Penguins Blind Hockey was established in June 2016. Our mission is to provide youth, adults, and veterans who are blind or visually impaired with an opportunity to participate in the sport of blind ice hockey, build friendships, encourage teamwork, and share an exciting experience with other athletes and student volunteers. We strive to provide these athletes with an opportunity to learn a new sport, teach them the appropriate skills to be successful, and promote an overall physical well being.
Blind Hockey is the same exhilarating, fast-paced sport as Ice Hockey. The most significant modification is that the sport features an adapted puck that makes noise, and is both bigger and slower than a traditional puck. Learn more about Penguins Blind Hockey at www.penguinsblindhockey.org.
On-Ice volunteers must be at least 14 years of age to work with blind athletes. Off-ice opportunities are available for younger volunteers. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about off-ice volunteer opportunities.
